OVERVIEW

Location: Los Angeles, CA or Colorado Springs, CO 
 
As a DevOps Engineer VI, you will be responsible for designing and building solutions to deploy applications in customer-facing environments while automating the operational aspects of the solution through code. You will focus on automation of internal development, testing, and release processes, ensuring continuous delivery of software and updates. Your role will involve building and setting up development tools and infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders to improve processes, and ensuring system security against cybersecurity threats. In this role, you will work closely with software developers, engineers, and IT teams to streamline software development and deployment pipelines. You will be responsible for managing infrastructure projects, implementing automation tools, testing code and deployments, and monitoring system performance. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and education to team members while maintaining best practices for infrastructure security and configuration standards. 

The proposed salary range for this position is $163,500-$225,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and build automated solutions for application deployment in customer-facing environments 
    • Automate operational processes, including development, testing, and software release activities 
    • Develop, test, and maintain infrastructure provisioning tools to support continuous delivery 
    • Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure to enhance software lifecycle processes 
    • Work with stakeholders and developers to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement 
    • Test and examine code written by others, ensuring quality and security compliance 
    • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, developing software updates and fixes as needed 
    • Ensure system security and compliance by implementing best practices for cybersecurity threats 
    • Manage infrastructure projects and processes, optimizing system performance and reliability. 
    • Monitor deployment metrics and identify opportunities for improvement 
    • Handle code deployments across all environments, ensuring seamless updates and minimal downtime 
    • Provide technical guidance and educate team members on DevOps best practices and operational strategies 
    • Develop and maintain configuration standards for infrastructure security and reliability 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

    • Clearance: Active Top Secret 
    • Education and Years of Experience: Master’s Degree with 15+ years of experience 

    • Demonstrated experience applying technical standards, principles, and theories in software development and infrastructure automation 
    • Extensive experience with DevOps tools for CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, and automation. 
    • Strong understanding of software development, testing, and release processes 
    • Experience with scripting and automation tools for deployment and infrastructure management 
    • Proficient in security best practices to protect applications from cybersecurity threats 
    • Ability to work under general supervision, providing solutions to technical challenges of moderate complexity 

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes 
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud automation tools 
    • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools 
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to improve operational workflows 
    • Excellent documentation and communication skills to train teams on DevOps practices
