USC Communications is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join its team. The Communications team sets the strategic communications vision and marketing strategies that promote the campus community’s innovative accomplishments, builds a strong brand identity, and nurtures the University’s reputation among its vast constituencies.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Strategy, the Senior Web Developer will manage the design, development, and deployment of University Advancement sites, applications, and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a highly-skilled, full-stack web developer with a strong background in both front-end and back-end development. This individual excels in leading web design, development, and deployment projects, ensuring the usability, accessibility, and security of digital properties.
Job Responsibilities:
Serves as primary, full-stack developer and subject matter expert on web usability, accessibility, and content management for University Advancement and USC Alumni Association web properties.
Completes external and internal design and UI design projects from concept development to final production.
Develops and produces reporting for web traffic, performance, and quality.
Ensures compliance with university web policy and leads research and recommendations on new web technologies, software, practices, and UX.
Provide full-stack design and development for University Advancement web properties and applications using USC theming in the university’s Wordpress environment.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
This is a hybrid position under our current work arrangement plan, with the expectation of on-site presence in our offices in the USC Tower located adjacent to the campus in downtown Los Angeles.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Combined 4 years of experience as a substitute for minimum education.
Understanding and strong technical knowledge of and experience with object-oriented design, web servers, web applications and programming languages, web content management systems, search engine optimization, and usability engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience.
Experience with front-end and back-end website design.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $102,576.72 - $134,044.39. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
